Power Trip’s debut full length Manifest Destiny lays not a claim to total conquest for one bloodline, but a deterministic blood prophecy of planetary destruction by riff and simply put, it’s one of the best thrash records I’ve heard in a long time.

Xibalba is a heavy hardcore/metal band from Pomona California

The Pomona, Calif., doom-inflected hardcore quintet Xibalba seem to understand this, and when they keep things straightforward, they're very good at making youth-crew songs that stick (and make you want to do anything but sit still).

Nothing on Hasta La Muerte will change the course of music, no, but Xibalba's the sort of hardcore group that has a pretty great chance of changing a few individual worlds.

Although the origins of psychobilly are debatable, the Meteors consider themselves the first and only psychobilly band. The new project from Welsh hardcore heroes Crossbreaker's frontman Josh Smith recently made their live debut, supporting Milk Music and Eagulls at Clwb Ifor Bach. It was an excellent fit - the one track that's online at present is indie grunge personified - which means catchy as hell and delectably full-throttle.
